August Networking

On August 4th, we are pleased to present:

Human Trafficking in Our Own Backyard

Guest Speaker: Kaye Van Nevel

“Every year, people are tricked or forced into a life no one would choose – sold into prostitution and the sex trade, locked up in sweatshops, and made to work for little or no pay. They are the victims of Human Trafficking.” -Soroptimist International of Vista and North County Inland

Kaye has been a member of Vista Soroptimist for 16 years. The mission of this international organization is “to support human rights and the status of women and girls.” Awareness of Human Trafficking, specifically the sexual exploitation of women and girls, became her primary interest. The club sponsors an annual Awareness Program and Walk every January. She also facilitates The North County anti-Human Trafficking Collaborative, which brings together multiple representatives of the community.

Please join us August 4th to learn more about this crime that has become epidemic in our community and what can be done to prevent it and help the survivors.
